6 Self-Care Tips for the Holidays

Happy Thursday!

We are a week away from Thanksgiving. I can not believe this year is almost over already. This blog I want to discuss Self-Care during the holiday seasons. We as mom's get real busy we forget to take time for ourselves.

Why is Self-Care important?

It encourages us to be kind to ourselves. If you are able to be kind and love ourselves, we are able to be kind and love others. It improves our relationships. It also helps improve our health by decreasing stress. So how can we give ourselves self-care during this stressful time of year?

  • Morning Routine

Every morning do something that gives you care. Journal, go for a walk, listen to music or simply sit quietly with a cup of tea or coffee.

  •  Eat Healthy

You can still enjoy your favorite Holiday treats. Just remember 85% to 90% of the time to eat something healthy. Only induldge in the treats you truly love. Do not indulge just because it is there.

  •  Be Intentional

What are ways you can be intentional? Be mindful of what you take in. This is things such as news articles, post, stories you read, watch or listen to. Choose to be kind to others even when kindness is not returned. Do something that brings joy into your life. Do something that makes you proud.

  •  Nap

Honestly this is my favorite one. If your body is tired let it rest. Be kind to it.

  •  Laugh

Spend time with someone who makes you laugh. Laughter is after all the best medicine.

  • Take a Bubble Bath

Turn on some relaxing music, light some candles and relax.

Most of all, remember to be kind to yourself. Don't let the stresses of the Holidays drag you down. Deep breaths and remember you can only control your own actions and reactions.

Until Next Time!

Also Remember,
You are kind,
You are smart,
You are important.

Update: It's November 2020!

 Good Monday Morning!

Oh my goodness it has been awhile. So much has changed in 2020. We are nearing the end of a year many call the worst ever. We joke and say on New Year's Eve as the clock strikes midnight we must call out 'Jumanji'.

This has definitely been a crazy year for us. As I last blogged about here, we downsized. We are now living the RV life, stationary. A week after moving into our new little home Covid-19 happened.

Our state announced it would be shutting down schools. A few days later came the state-wide lockdown. The day they announced the lockdown my husband got the call.

After this happened I finished my application with Instacart. We lived off of the earnings I made until assistance kicked in. That was a rough month, but we pushed through it.

We have made big moves this year also. One we moved to a bigger city. Big difference from where we use to live, for sure.

I have also taken on starting a home business. It is something that I am really excited about. More to come later on that. This year has also brought me smiles. My niece brought into this world a beautiful baby girl. Also, with our move, I am now able to see my niece and her family. We spent a Sunday together recently. It was the first time I met her little boy and he has grown on me a lot. I am proud of the person and mother she has become.

What has gone on for you guys this year?

Has it been a year of total disaster?

Did you move past the what-ifs and uncertainties?

Did you find silver linings?

Reach out to me in the comments and tell me about your year.

Until Next Time
&
Remember...

You are kind.
You are smart.
You are important.
